For the final project of Studio 7, I was given the opportunity to focus on a user group and place type of my choice. In conjunction with a research paper in ID651, I sought to find an evidence based design solution for my chosen user group. I chose to design a middle school library media center that is sensitive to the sensory needs of neurodiverse users. In ID651, I conducted an in-depth review of a human-centered topic, and in Studio 7, I applied this knowledge to identify and define issues relevant to a specific design problem (sensory issues within the built environment). After developing a written program that would serve the user's needs, I then developed a formal design, from scratch, that reflects the programmatic requirements.
