The objective for this short, 3 week project was to design a recycled shipping container home located in Manhattan, KS. We were given the parameters of 2 shipping containers, 50 square feet of added space, and the freedom of placing the house on a site plan in any orientation we saw fit. On this project, I learned about passive heating and cooling, and rainwater collection. Being such a short project, it forced me to make design decisions quickly and be more efficient with my time.
